2019: Won the second "Jiangsu Photography Education Award," given by the Jiangsu University Photography Society, recognizing university photography teachers who have made outstanding achievements in Jiangsu photography education in recent years.

2019: Mentored student Cai Yulu for the work "Shackles · Scar", which was selected into the 12th National University Photography Education Achievement Exhibition, hosted by the Photography Education Professional Committee of the Chinese Higher Education Society, and was recognized by the central committee as a work of collection.

2018: The photographic work "Impressions of Munich" (Series Work) was awarded the First Award in the Teacher's Category and First Award of National University Aesthetic Education Achievements during the "Glory of the Youth and Arts Education of China" season. 2018: The digital artwork "Landscape of Desolate Desert" (Series Work) was awarded the Silver Award of the Arts and Design Competition of Jiangsu. Sponsors included the Jiangsu Arts and Crafts Association and the Art and Design Academy of Jiangsu Province.

2018: Awarded the "Excellent Instructor and Lecturer Award" in Jiangsu's Arts and Design Competition. Sponsors included the Jiangsu Arts and Crafts Association and the Art and Design Academy of Jiangsu Province.

2018: Mentored student Jingwen Zhang in the creation of documentary photography project "Observation of Guest Rooms in Riverside Building, Shanghai" (Series Work) for which Zhang was awarded the "Young Photographer Award" during the 18th China Pingyao International Photography Festival, and Xu was awarded "Excellent Guiding Instructor Award." There were 102 institutions (84 domestic and 18 international ones) who took part in the PIP festival's university and college exhibition. 10 "Young Photographer Awards" (eight domestic and two international ones) were awarded out of 1050 exhibiting students. Sponsors included the Publicity Department of Shanxi Provincial Party Committee of CPC, the Department of Culture of Shanxi Province, the Jinzhong Municipal Party Committee of CPC, and the Municipal Government of Jinzhong.
