From July 24 to August 4, 2018, Chinese humanistic photographer XU Xuehan held his solo exhibition Seize the Moment at the Menier Gallery in London, United Kingdom. The exhibition was supervised by Mr. Cui Bo, a committee member of the Curatorial Committee of the China Photographers Association, and curated by Ms. Xue Yujie and Ms. Zhang Tingyu from the University of Westminster. After three months of careful planning and preparation, the exhibition officially opened on July 24.

Between 2014 and 2017, XU Xuehan traveled across Europe four times, spending over 120 days in more than 50 cities and towns across nine countries: the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, and Croatia. His encounters with ancient castles, iconic cathedrals, tranquil border towns, and bustling metropolises gave him a strong sense that reality and history are often separated by no more than a single doorway.

The exhibition showcased 40 black-and-white photographs selected from this four-year period, spanning from Amsterdam in the north to Dubrovnik in the south, all centered on the theme Seize the Moment. The works were printed on 290g German Hahnemühle baryta fine art paper, bringing out the depth and elegance of traditional black-and-white photography. The Menier Gallery added one of the exhibited works from this exhibition to its collection.

The exhibition was jointly sponsored by Nanjing Huawen Industrial Co., Ltd. and Nanjing Huachengwei Digital Co., Ltd. The venue, Menier Gallery, is located on the south bank of the River Thames, adjacent to Tate Modern.
