In October 2019, during the Beijing International Photography Week, Hans Xu (Xu Xuehan) was invited to participate in a two-day roundtable meeting for the preparation of "PHOTO BEIJING." The meeting brought together leading figures from both China and the United States in the fields of photography and visual arts, including Claudia, Artistic Director of PhotoLA; Phillip, Professor at Yale University; Karen, Curator at the J. Paul Getty Museum; Graham, CEO of the American Curators Association; and Gao Chu, Director of the Chinese Photography Archives Research Institute at the China Academy of Art.

The roundtable focused on the theme of "Building and Internationalizing China’s Visual Arts Market," with in-depth discussions on key issues such as the circulation mechanisms of art photography, exhibition planning and copyright management, and the development of international platforms for photographic exchange. As a prominent participant, Hans Xu drew from his dual roles as a photographic artist and a university photography educator to share insights into the current landscape of China’s photography market and offered constructive proposals for enhancing China's global presence in the field.

In recognition of his professional achievements and active contributions to international photographic exchange, Hans Xu was officially appointed, alongside several other experts, as an advisor to the PHOTO BEIJING Preparatory Committee. This appointment not only reflects his standing in the photographic community but also signifies his growing role in promoting the sustainable and global development of China’s visual arts market.
